Coach
Coaching could be considered the most crucial aspect of the approach adapted by Roberts and Kaiser (2015).
In fact, parents in the study reported that the Model and Coach steps were the most beneficial to their learning.
Stredler-Brown assessed provider interaction conducted via telehealth. Results indicate that providers dedicate most of their time, via telepractice, observing the interactions (79% of the time) instead of inputting feedback and providing practice. Unfortunately, without the proper coaching, parents may not be able to provide their children with skills to improve their language skills. This high rate of observation and low prevalence of provider feedback demonstrates how necessary provider training will be as telepractice continues to expand within the profession.
